Well the snow came and went very quickly, only about 20mm fell and it had dissipated by the next day. However, very thick fog here last night, you could not see more than about 10 metres in front of you.
Away from the weather, we have a pile of birthdays coming up, so in case I forget anyone, have a great day everybody. (your card is on facebook......)

Snow

A little snow fell last night, approx 2 cm, but had all but dissapeared by Sunday morning. Now about 2 degrees here and our pond is slowly melting, which will please our toads and frogs.

Freezing Brittany

Wow, its getting cold now. Weather here at present is -6 outside (8.00am Saturday) and chance of Snow tonight. I find it amazing that EDF has been charging their highest rate for tempo tariff users this last week (50p a unit) every day during this cold snap, and feel sorry for those totally reliant on electricity. Luckily we have a wood burner to supplement the oil fired central heating, and don't have to rely on electricity.

Freezing weather

Freezing weather - Minus 2 degrees today with a windchill of -11, its getting very cold now and snow is forecast for next wednesday. Had a few flurry's 2 nights ago, but it was very little and did not last long.

our first guests...

Our first guests stayed overnight on their way to south of france for snowboarding, they were up and out very early (about 5.00am) , but hopefully they had a good nights sleep ready for their long drive south.
Raining today and a bit colder (winter trying to creep in) .

Had a good day Friday, (Yvonne's birthday) spend day in garden and cooked a lovely meal for yvonne.

Saw a Pheasant in the garden today, and also our Toads are making out in the pond - going to be lots by the look of it, they are rampant little devils. Counted about 15 getting it together.....
Sun out today as well, so cut back all the hydrangeas.

Back from our little trip to Jersey, and it was a brilliant weekend.
Back to the grindstone here now, and get some gardening done before it rains. (maybe)...

Saturday 21st Jan

Well off to Jersey this evening, (Saturday) for a meal with some special friends on Sunday, going to be a mad rush but Condor do not make it easy sometimes. However looking forward to the meal and meeting up with the old crowd.
Yesterday spent the morning preparing paperwork for our driving licenses (in triplicate) then went to Pace shopping center, near Rennes to get the photos done, and ended up buying a "Mermaid" fountain for the garden.... (mental note - must not let Yvonne get carried away shopping)
